6 Products To Help Your Makeup Stay Put This Summer

Summer in the Midwest is a coin toss. You can have hot, cold, humidity, sun, rain, etc. all in one day. I have to admit humidity is my number one beauty enemy in the Summer. It seems like no matter what I put on (or don't) humidity makes my skin feel super oily, sticky and gross. Not to mention how big my hair gets but that's a totally different post. As an Avon Rep., my go-to beauty is of course Avon products. I have also found that those blotting papers can be a girls BFF on a hot, humid day. (Please bring them back Avon!) I've put together a list of items that can help combat Summer beauty enemy #1 to share with you. 

1. Primer - This is actually my first Summer using a makeup primer. It seems that Avon has been bombarded with a variety of primers lately. I chose Avon Magix Prime Face Perfector for 2 reasons - the price (it is the only Avon primer in my price range) and the SPF factor. I put it on and it gives me a nice matte feeling without any shimmer or stickiness. My makeup went on nicely over top and it helped with the oily feeling that I get later in the day. 👍👍 Check out Avon's primer selection here and use the chart below to help you pick the one for you!

2. Avon Wash-Off Waterproof Mascara - Traditional waterproof mascaras contain solvent based polymers that are very hard to remove and require special make up removers, however wash off waterproof contains unique emulsion technology that is easily removable with soap and water hence wash-off waterproof. Perfect for hot summer days!

3. Avon x The Face Shop Tattoo Station Proof Brow Pomade (DISCONTINUED)- Take your brows from soft and subtle to bold and defined in seconds with a silky-soft formula that delivers 24 hours of waterproof wear. I haven't personally tried this product but who wants their brows to sweat off? Check out the latest eye brow products here.

4. Avon True Color Glimmersticks Waterproof Eye Liner - The crowd-favorite eye liner glides on with perfect precision for hours of shimmery waterproof color. Summer must-have!!!

5. Avon 2-in-1 Lip Tattoo Lip Line & Fill Duo - Check out my review of Lip Tattoo on my blog! I can personally say that this is a great lip product to wear with a mask. I've worn it several times under my cloth mask with zero smudges on the mask or on my face. 

6. Finally set your Summer makeup look with a setting spray! This is the first Summer that I've used Avon True Color Makeup Setting Spray. Truth be told, in the past I sprayed my face with hairspray to help set my makeup. This is much better for my skin and not sticky. After a few spritzes you just let it dry to help your makeup stay in place. 

Avon True Color Love at 1st Lash Mascara Review

Now the juicy stuff - So a new mascara I'll give it a try. To be honest all the technical stuff lycopene, parben free, yada yada doesn't really matter to me as long as my lashes look great. AND they did!!! I already have fairly long lashes and I like to use mascara to give them a darker color and help them stand out. My biggest eyelash problem is that they get tangled up. I always use a clean, dry mascara wand (usually something I cleaned up from an old tube) to "comb" out my lashes before I put on any mascara. It helps them untangle and separate. Then I wiggle on my mascara. Love a 1st Lash did a beautiful job at darkening my lashes and giving them an extended look which made my eyes stand out with my simple, natural makeup look. I give it 👍👍!!! My only issue was that I didn't get the mascara all the way down to the root of my lashes which is totally my fault. I'm always afraid of poking myself or getting mascara on my face. 🤷

National Lipstick Day - My Avon Lipstick Collection

Happy National Lipstick Day friends! I don't know about you but my makeup look doesn't feel complete without my lipstick. It is usually the last piece of my look and I love to make it match my outfit. I love reds, berries, nudes, and purples!!! I'm open to most shades except pink. Pinks just do not work for me (weird lip problem, I guess). I thought I would share my Avon lipstick collection today. I've included swatches and links to shop. What is your favorite shade? 💄

The top swatch is Avon True Color Lipstick in shade Vamp and the bottom swatch is Avon True Color Bold Lipstick in shade Bold Bordeaux. 

Avon True Color Perfectly Matte Lipstick - The top shade is Hot Plum and the bottom is Red Supreme. The matte lipstick is one of my favorite formulas from Avon. They are easy to spread on, not sticky or drying, and has staying power. My next shade purchase is going to be Coral Fever. 

Not the best picture, sorry. These shades have a bit of shine to them which was my picture taking nemesis that day. Avon True Color Ultra Hydrating Lip Color - top shade is Petal Pink and the bottom shade is Day Lily. 

Avon True Color Nourishing Lipstick - The left shade is Candy Red and the right shade is Cherry Blossom. 

mark.'s lip treat is one of my favorite formulas because it is moisturizing and the colors are amazing. mark. By Avon All Butter Now Lip Treat - Shades from top to bottom: Razzmatazz, Fired Up, Coralitini, Terra Hotta, and Bare All (my fave neutral shade).

Avon True Color Moonlit Highlighting Powder Review

Avon just launched a new line of True Color Contour and Highlight products. There are three products in the new line - Avon True Color Moonlit Highlighting Powder, Avon True Color Illuminating Stick, and Avon True Color Transforming Contour Stick. 

I like to keep my makeup look easy and sort of toned down so I've never even attempted contouring. I decided to try True Color Moonlit Highlighting Powder. I love to use mark. By Avon Touch & Glow to give my cheeks a glowing look and I thought this radiant powder would be similar. My skin is quite pale and I didn't want to look orangey so I picked the lighter version, quartz instead of the darker color, topaz. The color pigment was fairly light when I rubbed it on my wrist using a brush and my finger. I recommend using a kabuki brush or one with stiffer bristles to pick up the powder. When I tried my fluffy brush I had little to no color on my wrist. Shade quartz creates a golden, shimmery glow. The glow is really pretty and I can't wait to try it with a full on makeup look in a later blog post!

Avon True Color SuperExtend Nourishing Mascara Review

I am already a fan of Avon's SuperExtend mascara line. In the past, I have tried SuperExtend and SuperExtend Winged Out so I was excited to try new SuperExtend Nourishing! The rose gold colored packaging is also super fun and different from other Avon mascaras!  😉

Avon True Color SuperExtend Nourishing Mascara is a great mascara for everyday use. Below I am wearing shade black. It gives my lashes color and a lengthened look. I also really like the wand. The bristles are shorter and the brush is long which makes it easy to apply on the bottom and corner lashes. The top makes a "click" when the bottle is closed too. I have worn it a few times and the formula seems similar to the other SuperExtend mascaras I have tried. The mascara stayed put, did not smudge, and came off easily when I washed my face.  👍👍
